Book designer Joel Friedlander just released his ebook cover design awards for January, and The Man Who Did Too Much won for fiction!
Whoo hoo!
There are a lot of pros (and talented amateurs) who enter each month. I am really jazzed to see mine get the prize. One of the advantages I have is that I design with thumbnail size in mind. A lot of pros have to design for paper.
Now if people will just start buying the book....
(You can see more about The Man Who Did Too Much right here.)
See you in the funny papers.

Thanks, Angie!
That's awesome. Congrats!
Great job, Camille! I love the look of that whole family of covers. It's good to see you getting recognition for them.
Thanks, Ryan and Azarimba! This is a slow month for sales so winning a prize is extra gratifying.
I have loved that cover from the first time I saw it. It's memorable. It's also an example of a cover designed for an ebook first and foremost, though I'm sure it would look great in print too.
Thanks, Mark.
The irony is that it is "retro" - inspired by art from a time when it was all print, and most of the Saul Bass work I had in mind was from full sized movie posters.
Of course, it was also a time when designing for the TV screen became an issue -- and designing for TV had to be really low-rez and simple.
